eQuest
Web application redesign for the job board posting
Background
eQuest is the world's largest job delivery posting service, providing global job posting distribution and recruitment services. The service empowers recruiters by giving them the ability to reach thousands of candidates around the world through their integrations and large network of job boards.
In the spring of 2019 eQuest hired Plain Sight Studio to help in overhauling their application's UX in order to automate their current workflow. I and one other designer worked closely with the company's CEO and Sales team to better understand the existing workflow and identify how to automate that process. We designed a suite of features from the landing page to product upsells, in addition to redesigning the core product.

Our Goal
eQuest allows enterprises to have access to the world's largest database of job boards, therefore allowing them to reach more candidates at any time. Currently, the process is done manually through sales contracts and integrations with ATS.
The goal of this project was to automate that process as much as possible, and through that automation identify other areas of improvement.
How might we...
-
Incorporate this automation into the applications UI in order to allow for enterprises to directly select job boards to post to.
-
Decrease the amount of time-on-task it takes to enable the job board postings.
-
Improve the discoverability of job boards for enterprises.
-
Design a system that works for a variety of use cases.
Automating the Workflow
As we began working closely with recruiters to understand the current process of posting to a job board, we realized that the solution for automating the workflow was pretty straight forward. Because of the nature of the product's service model, we essentially needed to mimic what was already happening manually on the back end. We solved this by creating an easy step-by-step checkout flow for selecting and purchasing job boards. By creating this straight-forward "flow" as our top-level navigation we were able to optimize for learnability.
Although this general check-out process is the same for all users, there is a large variety of use cases depending on the client's goals.
The Solution
